A surprise proposal captured on photo and video in the quiet side of Lake Garda

Wael contacted me while planning a business trip from Lebanon to Italy.
What initially looked like a work commitment soon became something much more meaningful. His job would bring him to Lake Garda and he decided to turn that moment into a once in a lifetime surprise for his girlfriend Celine.

The idea was simple but carefully planned.
Celine had no idea that a marriage proposal was about to happen.

On a calm winter afternoon in Riva del Garda we arranged everything so that my presence would feel completely natural. As agreed with Wael I approached them during their walk and introduced myself as a professional photographer who had just finished a session and had some free time left. I offered to take a few photos for them as a memory of their trip.

Those first images helped break the ice.
Then everything shifted.

While filming and photographing exactly as planned the proposal unfolded. Wael asked the question and Celine reaction was pure surprise and joy. Watching her happiness through both photography and video confirmed that the plan worked perfectly.

After the proposal we continued with an engagement photo and video session, enjoying the warm winter light that only Lake Garda can offer on sunny days. The atmosphere was intimate, relaxed and incredibly authentic.

One of the most beautiful aspects of this story is the setting itself.
Riva del Garda in the middle of winter, on a weekday after the holiday season, feels completely different from the busy destination most people know. The town was quiet, calm and almost empty. That level of intimacy made these video and photo moments possible.

It truly felt like Riva del Garda had been reserved just for us.
