Marriage Proposal and Engagement Photographer in Venice | Giovanni and Francesca
Engagement Photographer – Surprise Proposal – Gondola – Venice – Italy
A winter marriage proposal photo shoot in Venice
Giovanni contacted me from Piedmont with a very clear idea in mind. During their winter holidays he and Francesca were planning to visit Venice and he wanted to make that trip unforgettable with a carefully planned marriage proposal. One of his colleagues had proposed the year before and had chosen me as his marriage proposal photographer in Venice. Giovanni had been deeply impressed by those photographs and asked me to help him create a similar experience.
Winter in Venice has a unique charm. The streets are quieter, the light is softer and the atmosphere feels more intimate. It is the perfect setting for a marriage proposal and for a natural and discreet engagement photo shoot in Venice.
The gondola proposal under the Bridge of Sighs
The proposal took place during a gondola ride, one of the most romantic symbols of Venice. The chosen moment was when the gondola passed under the Bridge of Sighs, a place rich in history and meaning. Surrounded by the gentle movement of the water and the silence of the canal, Giovanni knelt down and asked Francesca to marry him.
Moments like these feel suspended in time. The emotion was genuine and intense and the gondola ride became even more romantic than Venice already is. As a marriage proposal and engagement photographer in Venice, my goal was to document the scene naturally, allowing everything to unfold without interruption.
Engagement photo shoot between St Mark’s Square and San Giorgio
After the gondola ride the engagement photo shoot continued among some of the most iconic views of Venice. St Mark’s Square, the bell tower and St Mark’s Basilica provided the perfect backdrop for their first moments as an engaged couple, filled with smiles and quiet joy.
We then moved among the historic tables of Caffè Florian, creating timeless and elegant images, before exploring quieter corners near St Mark’s Square where Venice reveals its most intimate side.
To conclude the photo shoot we headed to San Giorgio. From here the view over the skyline of St Mark’s Square is breathtaking, especially at sunset. The warm light reflecting on the lagoon was the perfect ending to a marriage proposal that became a lasting memory, captured through an authentic engagement photo session in Venice.
